  1. I've been lurking here for a while, watching your mushroom collection grow. I love it! Have you ever knit with "plarn," yarn made from strips of plastic bags? I immediately thought of it when you said shiny.

      Thanks for keeping up with the project! I haven't yet knitted with plarn, but I was actually thinking about using it for another project that I'm brainstorming at the moment. The challenge is finding bags in the right colors! I need green ones. Thanks for the comment!

  2. For a slimy look, have you experimented with knitting in "opalescent" or "pearlescent" embroidery floss or yarn along with your main yarn? I can't easily find a good example of how they look on the web, although Sulky and DMC both have them in their ranges A local craft store may be more useful for finding out how they might look.

      I have not tried this. For the most part I focus on getting accurate colors more than worrying about sheen, but that's a good idea!
